A SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT THIS COVER

The awesome Torpedo Ray depicted here is the winner of the Torpedo Ray Costume Contest. Artist Johann Octavius-Gans’ costume is excellent, as you can see. Unfortunately, as my fellow comic creators will attest, sometime you can create a kick-ass costume that looks great once, but when you try to recreate it quickly, on a regular basis and from multiple angles, you discover that it isn’t practical.

Reproducing this wonderful costume took me much time. Too much time, in fact. And trying to figure out how it should look from multiple angles really slowed me down. I tried to adapt it to my artistic style, but in the end I just couldn’t make it work.

Despite this, I wanted you all to see it because it is a great rendition of Torpedo Ray. Many thanks, Johann! I hope you understand what I’m talking about here and I hope you keep reading and enjoying THE CABAL!
